I could have been a professional student. So much do I love learning. Every year I watch the school curriculum dwindle with more cuts. I saw it when I was young. My mother had a grade six education, in a one room school house. Yet what she learned was equivalent to a university education, comparatively.
Then my turn came and with friends much older than I who explained what they were learning, I was filled with excitement, anticipation and yearning unending. Couldn’t wait! I’d be there soon. Alas most of what we had discussed was cut.
It became obvious that if I wanted to learn, it was incumbent upon me as an individual to pursue the process. In reality learning never stops and applies to every facet of life. Whether it’s educational, or life learning, the opportunity is available until the day we die. Do we embrace it, or deny it? Do we grab it and hold on excited at the possibilities and prospects learning offers us? Comprehending the vastness of our universe we choose one of many paths available. Whatever your passion is, open that door first, learn all there is to learn for life is indeed short. No time to waste.
Often people complain about school and learning, but the more you know, the more you know. Learning offers us the wisdom to make well informed decisions. The more informed we are the easier life becomes. Our perspective is broader we are able to see life through a Hubble telescope as opposed to binoculars.
If your one of the lucky ones, you learn this lesson early in life and your born with the hunger for learning.
