Page 94 – Craig and Maggy’s misunderstanding

“I’m up for that!”

Meanwhile, Max and Craig discussed  the possibility of anything else happening tonight.  “I think he got his kicks for the day.  I doubt he’ll try and pull anything more.  He obviously knows we’re watching which should make him cagier.”

They played trivial pursuit for a couple hours, and it was a close game, everyone seemed to do very well.  After that they moved on to charades.  By the end of the third game, they were laughing so hard, they could barely breathe.  “That was so much fun!”  Maggy whooped.

Craig added, “I haven’t had this much fun in forever.”  Wiping the tears of hilarity from his eyes he continued, ” God, this is a great assignment to get.”  His thoughtless remark stopped the party cold.  “Shit!  I’m sorry,” he remarked as Maggy got up and left. “Shit!” he said again getting up to go after her.  “Mags, wait, Mags!” Maggy knew she shouldn’t be so sensitive about it, but she couldn’t help it.  She knew she was falling for Craig, and if all it was was an assignment to him, then, damn!  She rushed to the main bathroom and locked herself in. “Its ok, Craig, I’m going to take a nice long soak.”

“Its ok, Craig, I’m going to take a nice long soak.”

”Maggy, open the door, please.”

“Sorry, no can do,” she replied, turning the water on full and adding bubble bath.  Lighting some candles she found under the counter, she stripped, and eased into the warmly scented water.  “Mmm, now this is living.” She hummed a quiet song to herself.  Craig turned around and before joining the others, made a quick survey of the locks and windows.  Downstairs, he poured himself a glass of wine and stared outside into the back yard.
