Saintly

Saintly

She had him on a pedestal

It was really quite incredible

His flaws, there were none

He certainly could do no wrong

Until the fateful day came

He came crashing down in flames

Breaking her heart, setting her free

And no amount of herbal tea

Could lift her spirits don’t you see

She was no longer his devotee

Come to terms she finally did

Living life, no longer a kid

Wise enough now to know better

She was finally free of the pressure

Certainly an ode to growing up

You’ve done well, little buttercup
