I awake and lay listening
Cuddled warm, wriggling
Beneath a fluffy downy quilt
Relax comfy without guilt
Listening, listening to the silent
Whispers from streets so quiet
Daring to sit up tall in my bed
I turned to the window, lifted my head
A muffled silence was all I heard
As with the pooch I conferred
We silently rose to peer outside
Delightfully excited at what we would find
A delicious snow-covered world
Looking like a netherworld
Soft fluffy silent and white
Oh it was a delicious sight
I would love to wake up to a sight like that ?
We lived in the Okanagan and had two lakes, Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake. An older teenage girlfriend asked if I could do. The days reached 120F so the water stayed incredibly warm, and with the lights reflecting off the water, it was the most beautiful serene blissful couple of hours I’ve ever enjoyed. Truly remarkable and fills me with warmth and joy even today. Your painting instantly reminded me of that moment in time so I can’t thank you enough!
That sounds like heaven to me. ?
Thank you Elaine, it was.
It really looks like another planet… dreamy…
