Tardy

Tardy

He sat on pins and needles

She wasn’t ordinary people

He knew that she was as special

And in a future they would revel

Long days amorous nights

Along with momentous highlights

But she was tardy and he could hardly

Contain his excitement covertly

Having set the stage for the exchange

The entire evening prearranged

Ready to get down on bended knee

To ask her for forever, thereby decree

His undying love upon this spot

So they could tie the love knot

Oh but she was oh so tardy now

As he waited anxiously to proclaim his vow
