What a delight she thought
Jumping in without forethought
Getting ready for her date
Making sure she wasn’t late
Excitement coursed through
Her veins, delighted to pursue
The possibilities with this man
Simply restart, because she can
Trepidatious, eager, emotions swirl
Fixing her scarf, giving it a twirl
No harm, no foul, in trying again
They were mature, quite sane
If all went well, another date
On which to deliberate
Enjoying his company most definitely
Perhaps he’d share passionately
Life stories and build a future
This fine young man, her suitor
