Rush

Rush

Sadly caught up in the rush

Of daily commute, no hush

Could be found until I saw her

Looking calm relaxed secure

The world suddenly haulted around me

A bright flower amid a sea of humanity

Fresh brilliant lovely delectably free

Of surrounding turmoil I’d gladly flee

Listening to music on headphones

Somehow managing to herself zone

Out of the chaos that was travel

Among mayhem and the frazzle

I moved closer, introduction sought

Without so much as an afterthought

Thinking I was oh so very clever

In my obvious endeavour

She looked my way and simply smiled

Seemingly not at all beguilded

Pushing ahead, I spoke loudly enough

Unwilling at this point to give up
