Watching him ski down the hill

Never once taking a spill

Graceful and elegant in style

Brought an easy gentle smile

He was born to ski assuredly

Certainly no need for insecurity

Yet he was humble through it all

Never making others feel small

I watched from the sidelines in awe

Clearly attempting with chutzpah

To make it to the chair lift

That in itself would be a gift

I slipped and slid and flailed about

My first experience left me in doubt

I could ever reach that level of finesse

There it is I see it now,  I made it, yes!
