Just a quick note to let you know I’ve had the flue and been quite sick for a month or more. This is the oddest flue I’ve ever had. It settled into my hip and the pain was unbearable at times, unable to lay down or sit.

My daughter recently went to the States and the two of them got sick, one with severe sinus infection, the other a type of flue that settles into your bone. A friend of my daughter told her their son was admitted to hospital and they had to drill into the bone to place antibiotics into it. He’s doing fine now. When my daughter went to the doctor he explained that what she had really was the flue. Consequently, in differing forms, it passed through all of us. My son and I both ended up with the side that settled into your bones. It’s been rough. My daughter said, “If this is the type of pain you constantly suffer, I don’t know how you do it.” Well there really isn’t much of a choice, but you add this pain on top of what I already suffer and I can tell you it is unbearable! There were moments I didn’t think I’d make it. You know how you have the flue and in the old days said “I feel like death. Everything aches.” Well this is far more concentrated and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy if I had one.

Consequently, there were time I wished I were abroad somewhere, enjoying beautiful vistas or sunning on the beach or dining in a lovely spot. Anywhere but here.

Many of you live in the places I’d love to visit and I quite enjoy the photos and stories about your home. It’s exciting and delightful. Perhaps in my next life I’ll get to travel.

Anyway, glad to be back. Hopefully this nastiness is now over and I’ll be upright more than not.

Take care all, thank you for checking in even though I haven’t been able to post much. I appreciate it and thank you to those of you that knew I was ill and sent get well cards. That I appreciate as well. Take care all. xoxo

  1. Gosh, that does sound nasty. People often mistake a cold for flu until they actually get flu and then they can tell the different. Flu is terrible. I’m glad you’re getting over it now. πŸ™‚
