I’ve chatted about architecture on occasion and my love of many
Norman Foster once said, “Quality is an attitude of the mind.” He preferred “simplicity” of design while Frank Lloyd Write’s architecture was “organic”. I was introduced to their differing styles years ago and every now and again I take a virtual journey as offered by youtube and wander through houses that are available.
I can only speak of these two since they are favourites and there simply isn’t time to discuss the multitude of wonderful architects and architecture out there. I will say, in my honest and humble opinion that their architecture stands the test of time.
Obviously. the architecture and structures of castles throughout Europe have stood the test of time, some of which are a 1000 years old and counting and in all likely hood will outlast anything we build today because of the type of materials used.
When you think in terms of the Pyramids, Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower, and more recently the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, it’s obvious that there are some pretty phenomenal architects. What of the Lichtenstein Castle, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, The Hanging Temple, and other structure that have stood for hundreds of years and the perfection with which they were crafted, it’s simply mind-boggling.
One thing is certain, all these beautiful structures will outlast us.
