Sheryl’s Daily Prompt
Danielle was eager to explore the possibilities entailed in her new job. Well, not a new job in fact, but an extension, a new arm to her already existing job. The company she worked for had approached her and asked if she’d consider heading up a branch dedicated to teaching hiking skills to a specialized group of individuals comprised of young troubled youth in need of direction and hopefully stave off the path of destruction that lay ahead.
Some had dipped their toes in troubled waters, but were at this point, teetering. As a result, the authorities (having heard about Exploration Events work with incapacitated people) had asked them to design a course that might open the minds of the young people involved in the wonders of nature and the possibilities it offered.
They had handpicked six teenagers aged 14 to 16 (hoping that the same age range) might encourage comradery and a mutual understanding of what they were facing and perhaps unite them in a common interest. Along with the hiking camping course Exploration Events provided, several artists been invited and had agreed to offer their services whether it was painting, writing, sculpting or drawing for the six-week duration of the course. The course would be offered three more times during the summer and if it proved effective in changing the hearts and minds of these incredible young people, it would indeed be a great boon to not only the young people but the company and to Danielle’s way of thinking, herself as well, taking her on another journey of exploration and self-discovery as well and she was very excited at the prospect.
Danielle was excited at the prospect.
She’d met with her colleagues who were to participate in the hiking camping end of things, and the three artists who had signed on were to arrive momentarily and set up their shops in the base camp. Everyone would meet back at end of the day, eat together and then participate in the evening course of their choice after which they would be free to roam about or contact family or friends on a secure internet line for a half-hour each day.
