Games day was a delightful event with all the participants hooting and hollering while the onlookers cheered them on with great enthusiasm. Maggy was delighted and painted a mental picture for her novel. This was beyond fun. When she watched Trent, she laughed out loud as he was involved and cheering the loudest of them all. He was having the time of his life…it was like watching him as a kid and she wondered if he’d ever had any real fun as a child. If not, he was making up for it now in spades. She couldn’t have been happier for him.
Later, they were sitting side by side on the Ferris wheel and watching the horizon come and go while enjoying an ice cream cone. “This was such a fun day. I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed myself so much,” Maggy admitted.
“I know what you mean.” He leaned in and stole a kiss which was returned with equal heat and vigor.
“Yum!” Maggy stated, “You taste like bubblegum.”
“And you taste like vanilla.”
Maggy laughed, “An unbeatable combination, don’t you think?”
“Yeah, I do.”
“Interested in coming back to my place later, enjoying the sights and a warm fire?”
“I’d love to.”
“Little cloud cover so we should be able to enjoy the stars and the full moon.”
Later, when the festivities were winding down, Maggy told her folks she was heading to Trent’s place and not to worry about her. They waved at the two as they left and turning away, smiled knowingly at one another.
“Things are heating up I think.”
“You’d be right my love, and I for one, couldn’t be happier. They are a good match.”
“My dearest husband, you are the worst and the best matchmaker.” She couldn’t help but giggle.
