Anna rejoiced at the newfound information. Consequently, Anna breathed a sigh of relief. She had the where withal to dig and she had, determinedly and in so doing, found a crucial piece of evidence that would turn the case on its ear. Jarod would flip cartwheels when he saw this.
Hidden in a strand of the victim’s sweater, were fibers that could only have come from the perp. And when she’d analyzed them individually, they were an exact match to the clothing he’d worn that fateful night!
Since he’d never stepped foot in the house before, there would have been no reason, no way his DNA and those fibers should have been present. He wasn’t known to Alycia and no one else in her circle of friends knew or met him either so there wasn’t a chance of transfer happening. It was a nail in his coffin for sure!
She wanted to dance a jig because she’d sweat bullets…concerned the perp would walk.
Forensics was the deciding factor and now the detectives could assuredly look intently into his story during the time in question and they’d find the answer and nail his ass.
The second Jarod walked into the room he knew, without a doubt, Anna had managed to find something. Walking straight to her he asked while taking her gloved hands in his own, “What? What did you find?”
Anna’s eyes danced, “Come, take a look at this!” She dragged him to the microscope and said, “Look, look!”
He asked, “What am I staring at? I know what, but…”
“Fibers from the perp!” She went on to explain and Jarod was elated!
“My god, this is brilliant! You did it!” Without thinking he turned, pulled her into his arms and planted a kiss on her lips that defied description. When he would have backed off she said, “No, I enjoyed it,” before backing him into a corner to continue the erotic kiss. Unprofessional? Maybe, but very satisfying!
